Zander Galerie Paris is delighted to announce its upcoming exhibition _A Place to Return_, premiering a new large-scale work by Polish artist Joanna Piotrowska. Her practice explores human relationships of care, control and (self-)protection through ambiguous gestures performed in domestic settings. Typically creating site-specific installations with her photographs and films in spaces fitted with carpets or curtains, Piotrowska’s newest work is a composite fabric of images spanning the wall in the form of a hand sewn quilt. One of the quilt’s fragments, a magnified close-up of a young and an older person’s hand touching each other’s arm and knee appears charged with distant, yet intimate memories of home and childhood.
