Amelie von Wulffen, Jonas Lipps
Press release
The exhibition features works by Amelie von Wulffen and Jonas Lipps. Amelie von Wulffen's text "Des Pudels Kern" reflects on her latest paintings in relation to current events and her dysfunctional family dynamics, questioning whether the need for realism in the 1930s was driven by similar insecurities as today. Her works explore a complex interplay of perception and representation, blending observation with dreams and memories. Jonas Lipps, on the other hand, intentionally alienates himself to create art, transforming his studio into different environments and imagining clients for his work. His approach involves a playful expansion into the unknown, contrasting with self-limitation. The exhibition is curated by Valérie Knoll and includes a publication featuring drawings from the last ten years.
