This exhibition is not a review of 181 years of the association’s history, but a survey of the current work of VdDK members. It shows their current work and looks towards future artistic work. Positions from all artistic genres are presented: Painting, graphic art, sculpture, photography, and media art.

The association was founded for “mutual help and support”. Solidarity, cooperation, and DIY have always driven the artists. As one of the oldest artists’ associations in Germany, the VdDK has a rich tradition that has a deep impact on Düsseldorf’s urban society. The association currently has 276 members.

The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive supporting program.
