Empathic/communal feeling that is distinct from Kant’s “common sense”—anticipates the direction in which the concept of queer natures developed throughout the twentieth century. It developed to the status of a communal myth.
Myth is generically defined as both a falsehood and a foundational tale: It is a factually untrue story that explains inexplicable phenomena in typically super natural terms; such stories often ground the formation of selves and communities.
Devdutt Pattanaik argues that myths "capture the collective unconsciousness of a people", and that this means they reflect deep-rooted beliefs about variant sexualities that may be at odds with repressive social mores.
Myths are making politically queer claims on behalf of nature and time.
The fluid potentials of mythology destabilize hegemonic frameworks.
By expanding on queer lore from ancient contexts that predate the ascendancy of heteronormative values and systems, myths often include being queer as symbols for sacred or mythic experiences.
The show is in an attempt to represent queer manifestations conjuring myths of the past with the myths of the present in a constant creation. Rooted in decentralized narratives, socially repressed queerness finds its new vessel to continue its tale.
