Beka Magyarlaki
Press release
Beka Magyarlaki's solo show will present hybrid forms and layered sound pieces represent a queer psycho-somatic landscape, with a poetic narrative centered on belonging, trans identity, and a collective imaginary.
In Beka Magyarlaki’s sculptural practice, materials become vessels for memory, the body, and transformation. The artist explores how the body is constructed, falls apart, and reassembles itself in a constant dialogue between the inner world and the environment. Her work is rooted in intimacy and bodily memory, and it challenges representations of gender identity. Her sculptures, which exist between the micro- and macro-levels and between the organic and the constructed, bear witness to a body in transformation.
