Caroline Gueye
Press release
Caroline Gueye is a Senegalese visual artist whose work explores the relationship between art, science, and spatial perception. Trained in astrophysics (Tulane University) and atmospheric physics (University of Lyon), she creates installations that examine visibility, orientation, and the experience of space.
Her practice includes artistic research in microgravity; in 2024 she became the first Senegalese artist to create a work in zero gravity, and in 2025 an artwork of hers was sent into space. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at KINDL (Berlin), FRAC Centre-Val de Loire, the Musée Théodore Monod (Dakar) and the Dak’Art Biennale, where she received the ECOWAS Prize in 2022.
She lives and works between Senegal and Europe.
