Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition 2026

Press release

Discover emerging voices at the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition – an open, juried platform showcasing Danish and international artists across visual art, crafts, architecture, and design.

The Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition is one of Europe’s most important open, juried exhibitions and has been a permanent part of Kunsthal Charlottenborg’s program since 1857. Each year, the exhibition presents a curated selection of works reflecting the many directions of contemporary art – from experimental forms to socially engaged perspectives. Serving as a mirror of its time, the Spring Exhibition acts both as a platform for emerging voices and as a barometer of trends across art, architecture, and design.

A professional jury selects the works through an open call, and the exhibition is installed by a curatorial team active in the field of contemporary art. Anyone over the age of 18 can apply – regardless of background or education. This open format makes the Spring Exhibition a unique place to discover new talent and gain insight into the many directions shaping contemporary art today.

This year, the Foundation highlights the interplay of crafts, design, and architecture in the Spring Exhibition’s presentation of visual art.
