High Art is delighted to present FW pt.1, a group exhibition with works by Ant Łakomsk, Paul Levack, Graham Little, Beaux Mendes, Alan Michael and Michelle Uckotter. On view in Paris at 1 rue Fromentin from December 19th, 2024 through February 22nd, 2025, the opening reception will take place on December 19th from 6-9pm. FW (part 1 and 2) is a seasonal exhibition that takes place in two parts, the first exhibition opening in the fall in Paris and the second exhibition opening during the winter in Arles.

There is a certain kind of inner landscape that emerges during the fall and winter months, a landscape of interiority so to speak. Surrounded by bustling festivities, heightened levels of commerce and colder climate, a solitary version of the season elaborates itself. Defined by stillness, mood and atmosphere, this version of the season carries a weight that tends to endure and remain in one’s memory. Art and fashion have over the years employed the seasons as a way to structure culture. The use and effects of which have translated into an accelerated form of retail cycle and culture industry. What appears as change has become predictably duplicative and in essence a form of perpetual manufacturing. One can argue the ‘season’ we are at now is primarily defined by a kind of collective exhaustion. FW pt.1 is a show about the season in which it takes place, but it is also, as the title might suggest, about the culture industry. Through this, we present works that might function as a bit of a repose, less as windows into artistic narratives and more as objects of reflection.
