Press release

Throughout our lives, we cling to countless things. We long for stability in an ever-changing world, so we cling to places, people, and habits that offer us security and define how we see ourselves. Yet the familiar can also become an invisible barrier: as we hold on to it, we may limit our own possibilities. At other times, we must let go of precisely what we would still like to hold on to. A conscious decision and a forced farewell are different experiences, yet both reshape our relationship to what was previously a part of our lives. Letting go is rarely a single, decisive moment. Rather, it is a slow, sometimes contradictory process in which feelings of relief and loss can coexist. It does not necessarily mean forgetting: what was important to us can continue to live on within us, even as it shapes our present in a different way. The exhibition titled ON LETTING GO explores these shifting bonds through the lenses of personal memory, human relationships, and creative decisions.
