2D 3D

Press release
It has not even been two weeks since my monster retrospective exhibition opened at the Városháza Gallery, presenting my extensive body of work from the age of 6 up to my current age of 90, and to my great delight, 37 Gallery has invited me to show, within these walls, the brand-new works of my last seven months, and where I stand now. My digital images printed on canvas consist of two layers: upon meticulous abstract paintings created a year ago, I soon overlaid large, colorful shapes, which became landscapes with colorful clouds, or whatever you will. As a further intensification, by joining the six already sizeable pictures without any gaps, my intention is to make the room appear covered in frescoes.
This, then, is the 2D, although with the final image of both series turning 90 degrees onto the end wall, it might already offer a taste of 3D. But then, the sculptures. I have always loved the phrase "Lead me to new paths, Lucifer," and now, forgetting Gyuri the poster artist, my pop-art self, and the creator of digital images, I pounced on a colorful building toy from a toy shop. Out of it, I created Gordius, Don Quixote, and the Three Sisters—abstract sculptural compositions that are only distantly related to their titles, meaning genuine 3D! I am delighted to show all of this to you; I think I have entered the age where I can allow myself to "let me play too," with gratitude to Andrea Bódis for providing the opportunity, and to Barna Benedek for making the exhibition a reality.
