Pain, desire, control, and resistance intertwine in In The Darkened Rooms, an in-depth exploration of the inseparable connection between the political and the profoundly personal. Expanding on her series Rose Garden and Hooked, which was shown at Manifesta 14, Kamerić presents an installation featuring three hand-crafted crochet objects. Her series Thorn (Bitch) (2021/2025), composed of analog instant prints, serves as both document and trace—capturing fleeting moments that run like a narrative thread throughout the space. These images are accompanied by brass sculptures, which extend the narrative into three-dimensional form, deepening the tension between intimacy and exposure, fragility and defiance.

In an increasingly darkening present, Kamerić brings female life stories into focus—narratives of intimacy, voyeurism, sexual self-determination, and the emotional toll of endurance. Simultaneously with the exhibition In The Darkened Rooms, Kamerić’s solo show EX YOU is on view at Fotografiska Berlin.
