Almine Rech Paris, Matignon is pleased to present Jean Dewasne’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, on view from January 10 to March 14, 2026. Jean Dewasne was a major figure in the revival of geometric abstraction, establishing himself in the 1950s as one of the most daring artists of his generation. His work incorporated scientific thinking and technological progress, transforming pure geometry and colors into symbols of a new humanism. Dewasne, after studying at Beaux-Arts and engaging in the founding of the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles, evolved a unique vision that used industrial materials to create a monumental approach in art. This exhibition will showcase the transformative nature of his work over the decades, reflecting on his contributions to both geometric art and its social implications. It features several significant artworks and explores Dewasne's legacy as a visionary artist.
