An exhibition by Chris Ofili titled Joyful Sorrow will inaugurate our new second-floor exhibition space in Paris. Continuing themes that the artist has explored in previous works, new paintings develop his relationship with Shakespeare’s Othello. A two-site exhibition, Joyful Sorrow is staged by David Zwirner Paris in partnership with Victoria Miro, who will present its other constitutive iteration in their Venice gallery from October 26 to December 14, 2024. These exhibitions will be commemorated with a joint publication in collaboration with the artist, poet, and writer Jason Allen-Paisant.
