LÆRKE BAGGER X ARKEN

Artists

Lærke Bagger

Press release

Come and experience a playful and unique world of knitting when LÆRKE BAGGER X ARKEN showcases personal interpretations of the ‘Inner Child’ sweater, designed by Lærke Bagger. Lærke Bagger is a knitwear designer and a trained textile designer specializing in hand knitting from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Since learning to knit at the age of eight, she has been knitting ever since. Through her designs, she challenges traditional approaches to knitting and uses unconventional materials like scrap yarn and beads—because in Lærke Bagger’s view, knitting should be humorous. For the (POP-UP) exhibition at ARKEN, Lærke Bagger has teamed up with passionate knitting enthusiasts, each contributing their own unique version of the ‘Inner Child’ sweater. Get to know Lærke Bagger a bit better here. (POP-UP) LÆRKE BAGGER X ARKEN invites you—and other knitting lovers—to contribute your unique take on the ‘Inner Child’ sweater, whether you've just finished it, it’s been tucked away in your closet, or you're about to start knitting it. The pattern is available for free, but you are also welcome to participate with an ‘Inner Child’ sweater you’ve already knitted. Send your ‘Inner Child’ sweater to ARKEN or deliver it in person at: ARKEN, Skovvej 100, 2635 Ishøj. The deadline for submission is the 30 September 2025. Your sweater will be returned to you after the exhibition ends.
