Limits to Despair / No Limits to Hope is a group exhibition bringing together six artists, most of whom are being shown at the gallery for the first time. With a paradoxically optimistic title, this exhibition, which opens on Thursday, January 15th, questions the notion of limits and of exile; exile from one’s country, but also exile from oneself. Taysir Batniji, Céline Cuvelier, Hanna Dubey, André Romão, Stéphanie Saadé, and Chaim van Luit present works that, despite their harshness, open up debate about reactionary social order and the processes of subjugation that accompany it.
