The exhibition explores how different image and value systems—science, fiction, and pornography—collaborate in shaping visions of the future, introducing a grounded, real-world dimension to public discourse through the paradoxical entanglement of fertility science and erotic imagery. Lyse presents a speculative video fairytale set in the year 2045, starring adult performer Nicolette Shea as a scientist working inside a futuristic sperm bank. The project draws on recent scientific research suggesting that exposure to erotic imagery can increase sperm motility, and Lyse pushes this idea further, asking a radical question: could images influence human reproduction itself?
