Engaging with themes of spiritual illumination and the natural world, Mimi Hope's silkscreen paintings are a study in the states of elevated consciousness. Byzantine Icon painters often used stencils to create multiples and were nicknamed 'machines of God'. In this new series, the artist explores the discipline of prayer, subverting the traditional print format. Hope has created singular, unique pieces – ultimately describing her own process in printmaking as an 'act of devotion'.
