In May 2025, Sian Kristoffersen will open her largest solo presentation at a Danish institution to date. Created specifically for Den Frie’s sub-level OSLO space, the ambitious installation presents both newly produced and previous works. Kristoffersen’s artistic practice spans many media and materials, drawing inspiration from ancient mythology and nature to science fiction, popular culture and literature. Often taking form as tableaus, her works move between surreal fantasies, mystical material memories and the everyday, evoking a rich spectrum of associations, emotions and desires. After exhibiting with the artist association Decembristerne in 2023 and 2024, Kristoffersen will take over the OSLO space at Den Frie in 2025 with a comprehensive exhibition project that will undoubtedly emphasize her unique practice and position in Danish art.
