Panspermia Siblings
Artists
Peter Stichbury
Press release
The exhibition 'Panspermia Siblings' by Peter Stichbury explores the concept of life existing throughout the universe, distributed by various celestial means. The works are not traditional human portraits but speculative embodiments of future artificial intelligences, designed to mediate encounters with Non-Human Intelligences (NHI). Each figure serves a unique function, such as the Diagnostician, the Interpreter, and the Archivist, embodying complex roles that challenge our understanding of identity and existence. Stichbury's art engages with themes of perception, representation, and the paradoxes of life, inviting viewers to reconsider what they know about humanity and the cosmos.
