Rose Lowder
Press release
This exhibition offers an immersive experience of recent work by filmmaker Rose Lowder, foregrounding the perception of nature, the methodology and the working economy that she has been tirelessly developing since the 1970s. Rarely shown in exhibitions until now, the films that Rose Lowder has been making over the past fifty years constitute a unique research project into visual perception thanks to her rapid interweaving of images and the keen observation of nature through the lens of a 16mm camera that she carries out in uniquely biodiverse sites. Shot on the Mont Gerbier de Jonc, the film La Source de la Loire (The Source of the Loire) (2019-2021) forms the centre of the exhibition. It is accompanied by two "bouquets" made up of twenty one-minute films shot on organic farms, most of which are situated in the south of France near the artist's home. Curator: François Piron
