Press release
curated by Diego Sileo First solo exhibition in Italy of Sheila Hicks (1934). A student of Josef Albers, she blends modernism with pre-Columbian textile traditions. Using wool, linen, and cotton, she knots, wraps, twists, and assembles works that challenge artistic hierarchies. For Hicks, textiles are living, everyday materials. An invisible thread weaving together art, life, and memory. Her art is ductile, tactile, radical, and ever relevant.
