The Bottom Dogs II

Angharad Williams
Press release
The Bottom Dogs II is an exhibition of new and existing works by Angharad Williams. The Berlin-based artist has taken the exhibition space as her starting point, working site-responsively. In the central piece of the show, Solo performance, she transforms Simian by creating an architectural nexus—obscuring the characteristic pillars of the space with walls. The resulting cube, which shields and reshapes the center of the room, is used both to install work and dictate its scale. Williams’ expansive new work consists of recent writing performed to camera. The resulting 45-second film is deconstructed, with each frame isolated, captured, and developed in film. These 36 rolls form the membrane of a 55-meter-long light box, lining the newly built walls in the center of the space.
The exhibition is supported by New Carlsberg Foundation.
