OTP Copenhagen is delighted to announce 'The Historian,' a group exhibition with Anna Munk (b. 1994, Aarhus; DK), Bertil Osorio Heltoft (b. 1990, Fyns Hovede; DK) and Christian John Munks (b. 1985, Copenhagen; DK), opening at the gallery’s Vester Farimagsgade location, Thursday 20 March.

Focusing on the idea of narrative in painting, ‘The Historian’ considers the role of artist as both fabricator and documentarian: someone tasked with creating authentic records and offering subjective interpretation.

Featuring new works by three Copenhagen-based artists, the exhibition engages with everything from the grand narratives of History, to the identity-forming stories we tell ourselves, to local myths, anecdotes, dreams, documentary films, snapshots, and the ambiguous relationship between image and historical fact.
