In her latest exhibition, Zofia Pałucha addresses one of the most common, yet reductive, descriptions of identity on social media. "A mother of one" is not just a statement about family status; it's a label that defines a woman in the digital world, endowing her with specific utilitarian and social value. The artist shows that the innocent slogan "bio" hides a whole spectrum experiences: from the biological hardship of motherhood, through voyeurism, to systemic violence. This is an exhibition about what is invisible. Pałucha's painting resembles a crime scene report or a photograph X-rays. The author exposes the mechanisms of power and desire, showing a woman as an object of eternal evaluation - regardless of whether she enters stairs, expecting a baby, or becoming a victim of human trafficking. a brutally honest portrait of modernity in which the body is simultaneously temple and commodity. text: Zofia Pałucha curator: Marianna Łomża Dr. Zofia Pałucha (born 1993 in Częstochowa) – lives and works in Wrocław. Her paintings combine personal experiences with political commentary, presented through the lens of contemporary digital media. Pałucha creates sketches on her smartphone, processing amateur photos, random stills, and film clips. She uses apps that allow her to create new meanings from fleeting and often overlooked images. The artist is interested in how the intimate sphere—the body, sexuality, the experience of motherhood—functions in a world dominated by media, technology, and politics. The mutability and diversity of her images reflect the complexity of contemporary life, in which the private is inextricably linked with the social and political. Her works are multi-layered and open to change—creating a subtle commentary on the fragility of human agency in a world rife with tensions and change. In recent years, her work has been presented in solo exhibitions at the Miłość Gallery in London (2025), PACT in Paris (2023/2024), BWA Studio Gallery in Wrocław (2024), Berlinskej Model Gallery in Prague (2021), Piktogram Gallery in Warsaw (2020), as well as in group exhibitions at the Wrocław Contemporary Museum (2021) and the Zachęta – National Gallery of Art (2022). In 2025, she participated in the NADA fair in New York. She received the Jerzy Grotowski Scholarship (2023) and the Moskita K Mag Award in the "Art" category (2024)
